Throne Thoughts- Monday Motivation

Well it’s another Monday here in the USA which means that 80% of the population (totally made that up but I bet it’s close) is starting a new diet and/or training program today.

This new and improved program won’t suffer the same fate as last week’s, DEATH ON THURSDAY!

It seems everyone can ‘be good’ on their nutrition and training until about Thursday. Then the wheels fall off. I’m not sure if this directly correlates to the stress induced by the work week, added responsibilities during the week, or the infiltration of thoughts of self reward after your 3 days of diligence. At any rate, this seems to be pretty common- I mean just look at the gym on Thursdays or Fridays- they’re ghost towns.

So, what do we do? I suggest making some sort of commitment on Thursday that keeps you honest-life an appointment with your trainer, a morning yoga/ group run or bike/ or weightlifting session. Additionally I would pre make your meals for Thursday and Friday on Tuesday to at least give you some incentive to eat correctly.

Finally, stop starting new programs every Monday because you went a ‘lil ‘cray cray’ over the weekend. You either want results or you don’t and that’s something you have to wrap your head around. This doesn’t mean you have to live like a monk (shout out to all my homies), but it does mean you have to actually spend enough time refining your lifestyle to see what you can and cannot get away with.

Big picture- Today- commit to making it to next Monday without any indiscretions. Your results are waiting.
